Posted in News Story
Professor Richard G. Weiss was the recipient of two awards earlier this year. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha Society that was awarded at the international symposium titled Science Beyond Boundary: Invention, Discovery, Innovation and Society held in Midnapore, West Bengal, India.
Professor Weiss also received the Hillebrand Prize from the Chemical Society of Washington, D. C. This award is the most prestigious honor given each year by CSW and is recognized nationally as a mark of significant accomplishment in chemistry. The citation of the prize reads as follows: “In recognition of his contributions to an understanding of the relationship between structure, function and the chemical and photophysical properties of polymers and gels, as well as their applications, and of the impact he had on generations of students and fellow researchers (both here and around the globe) in the course of his more than fifty years as an academic scholar.” Congratulations, Dick, from your colleagues at ISM2.
